Tuesdays, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/12 & 8/19Staff will be on hand so parents don't have to stay but are more than welcome to join in on our space exploration adventures.The North Tonawanda Recreation Department is ecstatic to offer this free summer astronomy program for kids again. Curious young ones will be allowed to use telescopes and binoculars, including an 80mm telescope capable of viewing deep sky objects with relative ease.Each class will offer a new lesson on various stellar, lunar, and planetary phenomena. Our resident astronomical enthusiast, Tom Arida, will offer up enthusiastic discussions, exciting experiments, and thrilling viewing opportunities to stimulate your young minds and pique your interest in further space exploration.Topics this year will include but will be limited to:
1. Light and Photography
2. Reflection and Refraction
3. Electrical Engineering 1
4. Electrical Engineering 2
5. Rocket Training
6. Aliens
Each week we will provide light beverages and snacks and perhaps an extra special treat here and there. Tuesdays, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/12 & 8/19Staff will be on hand so parents don't have to stay but are more than welcome to join in on our space exploration adventures.The North Tonawanda Recreation Department is ecstatic to offer this free summer astronomy program for kids again. Curious young ones will be allowed to use telescopes and binoculars, including an 80mm telescope capable of viewing deep sky objects with relative ease.Each class will offer a new lesson on various stellar, lunar, and planetary phenomena. Our resident astronomical enthusiast, Tom Arida, will offer up enthusiastic discussions, exciting experiments, and thrilling viewing opportunities to stimulate your young minds and pique your interest in further space exploration.Topics this year will include but will be limited to:

2. Reflection and Refraction
3. Electrical Engineering 1
4. Electrical Engineering 2
5. Rocket Training
6. Aliens
Each week we will provide light beverages and snacks and perhaps an extra special treat here and there. Our resident astronomical enthusiast, Tom Arida, will offer up enthusiastic discussions, exciting experiments, and thrilling viewing opportunities to stimulate your young minds and pique your interest in further space exploration.Topics this year will include but will be limited to:

Each week we will provide light beverages and snacks and perhaps an extra special treat here and there. Junior Golf Program @ Deerwood - 8-10 year olds (8:30am-10:30am) Whether your child is a beginner or an intermediate, this program provides an opportunity for students to get guided basic instruction and time to practice on the course with a group of peers. Golf clubs are recommended; however, we will have a few youth club sets for shared use.
Days: Tuesdays (11-14 year olds) Thursdays (8-10 year olds)Dates: June 24 - August 21Times: 8:30-10:30am OR 10:30-12:30pmCost: $100 (residents) $120 (non-residents)*Start and end times may be adjusted depending on the groupStudents will meet at the practice green at Deerwood Golf Course (1818 Sweeney Street).
