The City of North Tonawanda in conjunction with the Mayor's office is hosting its annual Holiday Lighting Contest. This year there will be 4 categories. The Griswold, Classical, Mayor's & People's Choice!. All entries must be received by Wednesday, December 13th by 4pm. The judging for the Griswold, Classical and Mayor's Choice award will be taking place on Friday, December 15th between 5pm-8pm. The People's Choice award will be determined by online voting which will take place December 14-17 (a link will be posted on our main page at www.ntparksrec.com as well as on our social media accounts @NTParksRec).
The winners will receive notification and will receive their awards at the NT Council meeting on Tuesday, December 19th.
Categories:
Griswold Award:
- Non-conventional methods of decorating in an over the top fashion
- Use every space of house and lawn with a mixture of lights and decorations
Classic Award:
- Lighting is conventional and has a distinguished classical look
- Use of wreaths, garland, and tasteful/ classic light displays/decor
Mayor's Choice:
- Judged on creativity, originality and use of space.
People's Choice:
- A picture of each entry will be posted online, and the public will be able to vote for their favorite entry. Voting will take place December 14-December 17. The entry with the most online votes will receive the People's Choice award. Link to online voting will be available on December 14.
Nominating a home or business is as easy as clicking the link and providing the address...we'll do the rest. You don't have to know the homeowner/business owner, we just need the address. If you do know the entries contact info please provide that so we can more easily reach out to them in the event they are a contest winner.
