We are now accepting applications for spring/summer seasonal employment.  Working for the Parks & Recreation Department is a great way to give back to your community while putting some cash in your pocket!  We are looking for self-motivated, hard working, dependable, and responsible applicants who are 16 years and older.  For more details on the types of positions take a look below!

Where do you fit in?

Parks Maintenance
:  If you like to stay busy, don't mind getting your hands dirty, and love to be outdoors, than this might be the job for you.  Job duties include grass cutting, weed trimming, ball field maintenance, park and facility clean-up, aiding with park projects and maintenance of playgrounds, etc.  Must be available 8am-3pm on weekdays. (availability all days isn't required)

Parks (Flowers & Water):  If you have a green thumb, then this is your neck of the woods.  Our beautification team is responsible for planting and maintaining all the flower beds in our parks and facilities.  Must be available 8am-3pm on weekdays. (availability all days isn't required)

Playground Attendant:  If you love interacting with youth then this is the spot for you.  Job duties include interacting with youth of all ages during our open playground programs.  Includes participating and aiding in arts and crafts, field games, supervision of playground, etc. Shifts vary from mornings to evenings, weekdays and weekends. 

Youth Softball:  If you have a passion and knowledge for softball then we'd love to have you!  Job duties include coaching, and umping games.  Must be available weekday afternoons/evenings.

Basketball Attendant:  If you have a passion and knowledge for basketball then consider joining this team.  Job duties include coaching youth teams, keeping score, and serving as a referee for games.  Must have availability on weekday evenings. 

Dockhand:  If you are a good communicator, are responsible, and are good with customer service, then a dockhand might be up your alley!  Job duties include monitoring the Gateway Harbor Docks, checking boaters in, taking payments, assisting visitors in the downtown area, and general park cleanup.  Availability ranges Monday-Sunday mornings to evenings. 

Tennis Instructor:  If you have a passion and knowledge for tennis then this might be for you.  Job duties include planning and instructing tennis clinics for youth.  Must be organized, well spoken, and have a good understanding of tennis.  Must have availability on weekday mornings.   
Creative Arts Leader:  If you are crafty then this might be a good fit for you.  Job duties include planning daily summer crafts for students and helping staff engage in the crafts with the youth.  Must be organized and have creative experience.  Weekday mornings & afternoon availability. 

Lifeguard:  You enjoy swimming? Join our lifeguard team.  Job duties include monitoring swimmers and facility at Memorial Pool and Raindrop Pool.  Interested and qualified lifeguards also are responsible for teaching youth swim lessons   Must have lifeguard and CPR certification prior to employment (we will work with interested participants in assisting them in coordinating their lifeguard red cross certifications)
