If you've driven or stopped by the Botanical Garden's in North Tonawanda you may be wondering what's going on with all the construction. The North Tonawanda Botanical Garden is in the midst of a shoreline face-lift. The project was spearheaded by the Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper in association with the Botanical Garden Organization to revitalize 1 acre of shoreline along the Canal. With the project, the aim is to transform the shoreline to a more natural form using sustainable practices. Native plants will be used exclusively to benefit surrounding fish and wildlife while furthering the goals of the North Tonawanda Botanical Garden Organization. Grant funding to support this project was received through the Greenway Ecological Fund. The park will remain open for fishing, boating, and enjoying our beautiful gardens throughout construction with final completion in the spring of 2021.
