In the fall of 2018, the City had initiated a feasibility study for the Memorial Pool Facility located at 848 Payne Avenue.  The pool, which two years ago celebrated it's 70th year anniversary, is now operating for it's 72nd year and is showing it's age.  Brandstetter and Carroll Inc., a engineer, architect and planning firm, specializing in aquatic structures was hired to look into the feasibility of renovating the existing facility as compared to building a new facility.  The firm is recommended the building of a new facility complex which includes attractions not currently offered which include a zero-entry pool, lap pool with diving boards, lazy river and dual water slides.

The Council is currently in the process of reviewing the draft presentation and making recommendations and commentary to include in the final draft.  The City is already looking into potential grant funding to fund either the renovation or development of a new complex.  Until a decision is made, Memorial Pool will continuing operating as it has in the past with the swim season beginning on June 21, 2019.
